I help people who want to enjoy life but find it difficult to navigate issues with school, work, relationships, illnesses, chronic pain, and/or past trauma. They often experience high degrees of anxiety and depression because resolving these issues and moving forward feels overwhelming. Sometimes this can be related to a specific event (like a near death experience like a motor vehicle accident or major life change) or sometimes these feelings can be more long standing. I also work with clients to also address lifestyle factors that can contribute to negative feelings.
I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR in sessions, and work collaboratively to figure out what is working for you and what you want change. I also draw on other therapeutic modalities when it's helpful for your journey.
I have additional training in CBT for Anxiety, CBT for Insomnia, and Trauma. I am Certified EMDR Therapist and an EMDR Consultant-in-Training, and am an Internal Family Systems Informed Therapist via IFSCA. Additionally, I have taken training in hypnosis from the University of Toronto, DBT, and Polyvagal Theory. I have also work experience with chronic pain, oncology, and motor vehicle accidents.
